Xbox Live Arcade Prepares For Expansion
By Brandon Smith With an already impressive list of games and more on the way, Microsoft discusses how they will compensate At the GDC (Game Developers Conference) Microsoft representatives discussed what will happen as the size of the Xbox Live services increases. Recently it was announced that 15 more games would be available for Xbox Live Arcade by summer. For example, if the market place becomes too crowded, under-performing titles can be pulled to make room for more exciting games. A system would be set up so that if you did buy something that is no longer available, you would still be able to download it. From a development standpoint, games should not exceed 50MB – in insure they will fit on a memory card, not just the hard disk. Ideally developers want to get games down to 250MB so that gamers can have at least two games on their cards. Microsoft does expect some titles to increase in size as more complex games become available.
