Review Roundup: Oblivion
Oblivion has been released and our dreams have come true. It has been so popular that the Xbox Live list may have a new champion since Oblivion is Xbox Live Aware. Only one single review below 90 has been released, so if you do not already own Oblivion, that is confirmation to go pick it up. As amazing as Oblivion is, there are a couple features which retract from enjoyment. Mainly the level scaling system is well, not very good. The difficulty is not the problem, more so the problem is with exploration as you can all but defeat the entire main quest and any dungeon without raising one level . Basically, leveling up is purely for the purpose of recieving flashier effects and skins. Of couse, this may be just the futile whining of a Morrowind Fanboy. Let it be known though, Oblivion is still one great game, enough so to make you completely oblivious of your real life.
GameSpot [95/100] - “Morrowind” earned recognition for being one of the best role-playing games in years, but the immersive and long-lasting experience it provided wasn’t for everyone. Oblivion is hands-down better, so much so that even those who’d normally have no interest in a role-playing game should find it hard to resist getting swept up in this big, beautiful, meticulously crafted world.

IGN [93/100] -The best single-player role-playing experience to come along in years.

GameSpy [80/100] - It’s got plenty to recommend it, but apart from its unprecedented visual achievements this is not a life-changing, essential or fully “next-gen” experience. It’s a good, solid RPG that doesn’t break the mold but instead makes one that’s bigger and shinier.
